Austria boasts the title of the cultural capital of Europe and is the birthplace of such famous composers as Wolfgang Mozart and Johann Strauss. From opera to symphony Austria offers its’ guest a buffet of cultural and artistic pleasures. At the heart of Austria is its capital, Vienna, a city full of beauty, class, and sophistication. Austrians expect quality in all aspects of their lives and this holds true for their new indulgence: the Hookah.

The Hookah’s rise in popularity, however, owes tribute to the work of individuals like Andreas Pohlodek. Owner of Pascha’s, a beautiful Hookah boutique in the center of Vienna, Andreas and his wife Kristen have done an amazing jobof introducing Hookahs to Austrians with class, quality, and attention to detail they expect.

Their store features quality Hookahs and accessories and has earned the couple a reputation for being the source for quality Hookahs in Vienna. After enjoying great success in Hookah sales, Pascha’s added a catering wing to their business. They have successfully introduced Hookahs to nightclubs such as the famous Buddha Club (recently renamed Kaiko Club) as well as the well known SOHO chain of clubs. While Hummus and other Middle Eastern delights that commonly found in other Hookah clubs can not be found at the Buddha Club or any of the SOHO clubs, the quality of the Hookahs make them favorites of Viennese Hookah lovers. A standard smoking experience at a Pachas catered event involves a brief lesson from the server on Hookah smoking and some tips to ensure a enjoyable smoke. After the Hookah is presented to the customer, the staff remains at their disposal to ensure a great smoking experience. Pascha’s also caters Hookahs for special events as well as businesses and personal functions. Recently, Pachas provided Hookahs for a fashion show put on by the famous European clothing chain, Jones.

What if you're not in them mood for a sophisticated smoking experience? Vienna is also home to many traditional everyday style Hookah cafes and lounges as well. These cafes tend to be more popular among Middle Eastern clientèle rather than indigenous Austrians but if you looking for a more authentic Hookah experience they are hard to beat.

Currently Nakhla is the most popular and readily available tobacco in Austria. Due to stricter tobacco import laws and very high tobacco taxes in Europe, new brands of tobacco have been slower to make their way into the market even though the demand is strong for better quality brands.
