The lounge offers their clients a double feature, which includes two approximately equal sized buildings connected to each other by a single doorway. One of the buildings is dedicated to dining and the other to lounging and smoking, but both have a full service bar! The restaurant seats approximately 100 people, and the lounge has private booth style seating, a dance floor, and an open seating area. As smoking rules are currently very relaxed throughout most of Europe, hookahs and cigarettes (which the lounge sells via vending machine) can be enjoyed in both the restaurant and the lounge. The menu was reasonably priced and offered a broad assortment of Mediterranean dishes from appetizers to desserts.

The staff was courteous and attentive and even accommodated our request to make the hookah from our own tobacco, because we did not want to smoke the only flavor they offered, double apple. The hookah came with a long handled hose, reminiscent of the hoses popular in cafes across the Middle East, but had a uniquely styled bowl. The hookah was served with Japanese style charcoal squares, which proved adequate to heat the head. In addition, the hookah was decently clean but since the lounge only serves double apple, the hookah was flavor stained.

Overall, Marooush is a sight for eyes grown sour of picking through mediocre hookah lounges, but the overall Hookah experience still leaves something to be desired. If they were to expand both their hookah styles and brand and flavor lines, Marooush would have the Berlin market sewn up!
