| With the release of 2003's Best Kept Secret the Ominous DJs emerged as the dynamic stars of the Desi hip-hop arena. Providing a mix of songs ranging from upbeat dance hall anthems to down - tempo jams, the Ominous DJ’s are an omen of the revolution being instigated by new generations in traditional Middle Eastern and East Asian music. Three years later came their sophomore work Unfinished Business. This album also yielded a popular video, which earned the group some attention in new circles. The video was entitled “Unfinished Business Medley,” and sported South Park styled animation, a great sense of humor, and a blended soundtrack containing snippets of their entire second album. The video serves as a great introduction to the album and the group! {youtube}EF75mua8aQU{youtube} A fusion of traditional Indian vocals with solid, danceable beats this album sounds great at the local hookah bar, the dance hall, or in the car! Both are a pleasure to listen to and can be sampled online for your listening pleasure. The four DJs keep their music fresh through consistent contact with new talent: The group routinely works with artists from India, the UK, and the US. A variety of artists from rappers to traditional vocalists provide the brushes used to shape the masterpieces the DJs spin. Some of the better known artists include Kuldip Manak, Lehmber Hussianpuri, Daljit Mattu and Young Righteous. While every album the group produces is golden, live performance is the heart of the Ominous DJss. Their gig listing is available on their website, but most of their performances are in the UK.
